Utah permit turnaround times?

Anyone have an idea of how long it's taking for Utah to issue non-resident permits? I know they have 45 days...are they taking that long?

Just got PA LTCF in 12 days. Sheriff Nau is great.

They have 60 days by law and they will use all that time to send you your permit

Earlier they were up to 90 days. Give 'em a second, they'll come through.

I mailed my application and check on 02/02/09 and when my check still hadn't cleared after 30 days I called to make sure they had received it. Lady on the phone told me it would be at least 60 days after my payment was processed which happened on 03/04/09. Still waiting.

Good to know, cvhoss. I mailed mine on 2/18/09 and my check cleared on 3/19/09. Looks like I am a couple weeks behind you.

I am on day 75.

Received on day 78 after credit card run. From date of receipt by Utah to date of my receipt of permit, 92 days.

This might get better after May 1st. My local sherriff's dept told me that UT put a law into effect starting May 1st that all Non-Res permits had to take the permit test in UT, which would really cut down the number of permits they would have to process I would guess. Not sure if she was correct or not, just what I heard.

Lately it's been around 70 days after "receipt" for resident, and closer to 80 for non-res.

Not correct. IIRC there was talk of requiring out of state UT permit instructors to train in UT but nothing came of it.
