Another "why carry at home?"
This unfortunately happened in the ever so gun friendly state of IL but I have seen other stories like this in other gun friendly states. Now maybe in IL you can have one in your pocket on your property...I really don't know. At any rate I have seen polls here before on if you carry at home. I have a friend here in Missouri this happened to and before Mr repo got the truck completely on the trailer....he was staring at a very angry man with a 45 in his hands. Repo man was one house off on the repo job. Repo man got arrested for trespassing, destroying property among a few others. Seems to me if I was a repo man I'd triple check a job before going on someone else's property. I have one (either 38 or 380 ) in my pocket all the time. I had gym shorts on once and went to bed with 38 in pocket and when I rolled over to wife's side...well she thought I was glad to see her :22a: - I made that last line up to make a point. ALWAYS CARRY if you can legally.

I carry at home, something simple like a LCP or Jframe in the pocket. If someone bust in I'm ready.
Anything can and will happen.
This is a story about my cousin about 3 years ago. Let me first start out he has a beautiful home in Tulsa Oklahoma, Gated community with 3/4-million dollar homes. He has a beautiful wife and 3 children (2 boys 6 and 10 and a girl 9).
One night in the middle of the night he went downstairs because he needed a glass of water he was supper groggy not really awake. He hears his backdoor open. really doesn't think that much of it. But before he new it he hears some one walking around his house, wooden floors. He walked into the front room to find a man kinda poking around. He asks him what he's doing there and the guy states he is in the wrong house.
No lights are on its completely dark maybe a kitchen light from when he was in the kitchen. My cousin is a pretty good sized man he grabs the guy by the arm and says yes you are in the wrong house and escorts him to the door by the arm and basically tosses him out.
He goes back and sits down and thinks ya know something isn't right here. "Ya think" He's a very successful engineer for an oil company. I am sure he just couldn't believe what was happening and you know how we get when we are asleep. So he calls the cops. They call him back and they had picked up the guy walking down the road. Take him back to the house for an ID and my cousin says yep that's the guy. Well the police officer says well MR' XXXX meet So and So he's been arrested for home burglery twice. This is his 3rd time and 3 strikes your out all that business.
Moral of the story....You never know what's gonna happen. these guys sometimes are very bold, strung out, whatever. Anything can and does happen.
My cousin and the burgler were very fortunate that night that it went down like it did. He has a house full of guns, and I'm pretty sure he knows what to do with them.
This stuff can get creepy real fast in any environment. I stay on my toes. It's just a dang good idea.
