    Lightbulb Why haven't I tried a plaid shirt before?

    My summer wardrobe consists of solid color T-shirts and polos. I've never really liked plaid shirts . Last year, my wife bought a striped polo for me and it was the only one in the closet.

    In the summer, I have typically carried a Kahr PM9 or a Glock 33 in a clip on Kydex IWB worn just to the right of the zipper, hides well under those loose fitting solid shirts. I could never wear a IWB strong side or the gun would print against the solid shirt when I leaned over.

    A couple of weeks ago I saw a comment about plaid shirts being good for concealment.

    Reluctantly, I purchased a couple of plaid button up shirts. The difference in how noticeable any little printing is with the plaid shirt versus a solid shirt is amazing . I'm able to wear a Glock 38 (45 GAP same size as the 23 or 19) strong side IWB; I can lean over as if getting a drink from a water fountain or putting something in a shopping cart and the pistol isn't noticeable.

    Plaid shirts, I'm getting more!

    I usually wear a black T when I am not flying. Yeah, the Glock prints, so what ??? Could be anything; sheeps have no clue ...

    Plaid shirts

    Wearing a plaid is an old shoplifters trick. Not saying that you intend to turn to a life of crime. Plaid breaks up the pattern of what ever is under the shirt. I have seen 110 pound guys hide a 5lb. canned ham under a plaid shirt and you could not see it. Here in California, I like to wear Hawaiian shirts in the summer,they also break up patterns and it makes me want for a trip to the islands. Glad you found a way to carry and not print. Stay safe.

    Oh yeah, Blademan... a good Hawaiian print can cover a multitude of printing sins... get some dazzling colors in there and buy 1 size too large, and you could probably conceal an AK with a folding stock... LOL

    Plaid is so.....so....sixties....aint it? I see too many movies with young gangs wearing plaid shirts, and I associate them with east L.A. for some strange reason. But hey...whatever works for you.

    Seeing a plaid shirt automatically makes me sing any number of Nirvana or Pearl Jam songs. I can't help it. It's involuntary.

    One of my favorite photos with a daughter getting ready to go to prom, I was wearing a plaid shirt with a PT92 underneath. I swear, I can hide a 12 ga. shotgun underneath that darn thing!

    Yep, plaid, or really any crazy pattern will hide your gun quite well. The pattern brakes up the outlive very effectively.

    I wear crazy print shirts and leave them open...it fits in with the crowd.

    Hawaiian prints are perfect in FL, but in MI sometimes, some 'fellas' may start to follow you around...
