Texan CHL feeling very vulnerable in California this week

I hold a Texas CHL. This week my company (a computer software company) is holding a meeting in San Francisco. There are few places I would rather carry more. Tonight my department (about 60 people) went out to eat. The company expense policy also prohibits taxis and rent-a-cars at this meeting. We walked 12 blocks from the down town hotel / conference center to the restaurant (together in a "herd" for "protection"). On the way there and back by my count we passed 3 gangs, 4 "dumpster divers" 6 panhandlers and a couple of prostitutes with their customers. And at least a dozen other individuals that just made me nervous.

But thanks to the left-wingers who control CA this is one of about 20 states where it is not legal for me to carry. The company meeting was required. As was the dinner meeting this evening.

But since gun control is sooo strict in CA it is perfectly safe -- right???

I can't wait to get back to the "Republic of Texas". Where the bill of rights is taken much more seriously. The rest of the week I will stay "holed up" in the hotel / conference center.

Even the security guards here are unarmed.

Why of course. You know gun control always works!! I'm sure none of the gang members you saw could get their hands on a firearm so you should be OK,

And I am certain that NONE of them had them. And that no one else on the street that I saw had one either.

Come to think of it I doubt any of them had any other weapons like knives either. I mean -- doesn't California also have a law against knives with blades longer than 2 inches....

Doubtless I was just uncomfortable because I am a right-wing extremist away from home....

Wouldn't it have been a good idea to take a taxi, even if you had to pay for it yourself?

    Fixed it for ya !

I was just in CA recently though not in SF. We were driving back, and I was glad to reach a stateline with reciprocity for my permit.
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME. Our success in this will be proportional to how hard we work to make it happen.

And really soon, the only ammo the gangs are going to be able to get is micr-stamped ammo which will inevitably lead to their arrest and incarceration.

I feel you pain. CA is way out on the left coast in so many ways.

I am glad Obama and the libs have my back. I don't have to worry about anything anymore.

I feel sorry for the gun enthusiasts that find themselves trapped in that state either by work, family ties, funds, etc.... That would be tuff.

    Get back to Texas asap!!!

I'm planning our vacation this summer and its only to states where the wife can carry

If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?

I thought seriously about it before the walk. Like everyone I am cash strapped.

After the walk back I decided if I have to go any where else I will pay $50 -$100.

I feel your pain. I've been stuck in NJ since March 9th, and have to remain until May 29th...

Luckily I get to go home on the weekends

I think my Glock misses me... NJ has taken a toll on me because when I carried before I could never tell it was there. Now it feels like a brick because I haven't carried in so long.

But hey, at least I don't have to worry about criminals with guns, they have laws here

Don't worry, my business partner's butthead brother lives there..... he assures us we are crazy Texans and you should not need to carry a gun. He says there no one needs them. Lol, I figure that would make you feel better.....they do not have crime there.
