    Talking Sheep at Hooters

First of all, I carried my single stack IWB and today I had the grip exposed and of course cocked/locked. So, I guess you could call it 1/2 concealed. My shirt was a little loose so you couldn't see the handle real well. Anyway...

I went around town today and only had one strange look and that was from a kid around 8 years old, maybe younger. So I got to Hooters for lunch and had been there for about ten minutes and the the little waitress came up right next to my pistol and asked me, "are you a cop?" I said no and she didn't say anything at first but looked down at my pistol. I said, "and?" She said that it was scary and someone was commenting on whether or not I was a cop and that they were saying that you couldn't carry in a place where alcohol was served. I informed her that "they" were wrong and in MS, you could in fact carry where alcohol was served as long as that the primary reason of the establishment was to serve alcohol, etc. I also informed her that in TN you couldn't carry where alcohol was served. She informed me that she didn't care and that she was just wondered. My wife was with me and just kinda giggled about it. That was it.

So, I guess it went okay. I had thought of lots of smart ***** stuff to say but the little girl was cool even if uncomfortable with it. In the end, I answered only what I felt that I needed to.

    Later.

It was her idea. She's as good as what's there. Food is pretty decent, a little high, and yes, the view is nice but mostly depends on where you are.

Just don't get the "B" team for the waitress.

Why would you just not go ahead and carry concealed? Wear something that covers the entire grip. Me personally, I dont want to draw any attention to my piece. I guess it depends on the open carry rules in your area.

Wow you took your wife and your gun to Hooter's!!

Seriously, what you might want to start thinking about is a better way to conceal your weapon. Just my 2 cents.

Sometimes I carry concealed and sometimes I don't. It usually has a lot to do with the duds that I am wearing and what clothing is required for the day. I know the pros and cons of each. It just depends on the mood I'm in also sometimes.

I'm from Southaven originally. Horn Lake and Southaven cops don't bother me too much. As a matter of fact, I've been to a few establishments with guys in uniform around and none have ever said anything and I know that they saw me carrying. I think it has a lot to do with how you look. I usually dress pretty nice and don't look all strung out like a crackhead so I think that helps.
