Choosing a good lawyer should I ever have to use my gun???

So I was reading another thread and it got me thinking. How do I go about choosing a good lawyer/legal counsel before anything happens?

Hopefully I'll never have to worry about this type of situation but I like to be prepared and with carrying a weapon (hopefully if Utah even gets me my permit) I think it is the responsible thing to do.

Do I contact them before anything happens? How to choose someone that isnt a flake?

    Thanks in advance.

Many threads here covered this subject. Use the Search feature.
Obvious sources: NRA, local cops, bar association ...
The first rule of a gunfight: "Don't be there !"
The second rule: "Bring enough gun"

Open the Yellow Pages and start dialing.

    Seriously, use the feature.

You'll find many past threads just like this one:

I decided to get involved with our state's premier carry organization when we had about 500 or so members. We are at over 4,000 now. I attended luncheons, volunteered to recruit at gun shows, and write the apprpriate legislators when necessary. We have several attorneys and legislators as members.

I keep one's number on my speed dial. If you are ever (God forbid) involved in an altercation, they should be the first, and only person you speak to.

There is an oganization I've been associated with for years now.

Prepaid legal services has been around for over 35yrs. They have the largest network of attoneys in the world. IMO; they are the BEST!

I have an attoney I can call and ask ALL the questions I want on a myriad of issues.
I also have access to a criminal defense attorney 24/7 365 ANYWHERE in the US and Canada should I ever get arrested.
They are definitely worth looking into!

    Info can be obtained here:
