How Do You Describe What You're Carrying

Just curious how you describe what you're carrying if the conversation leads that way. I guess it might depend to whom you are talking, for example, a LEO, a friend, a gun enthusiast, etc.

Friendly LEOs I'm honest with and tell them that it's a Glock 27. Then we proceed to talk about Glocks (Which is what most of the local LEs carry). Same answer to a gun enthusiast if I know them. Friends and anyone who doesn't know - I honestly don't know how I'd respond because it's never come up.

    I say...I carry a gun.

    pretty straight foward and direct.
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.

I carry a side-arm. No choice for that, thus no vote.

If I tell you I tell you "I conceal carry", after that it varies depending on the person. Sometimes I tell them I carry a sig, sometimes a pistol. Depends a lot on the people.
I know not what this "overkill" means.

Honing the knives, Cleaning the longguns, Stocking up ammo.

I like side-arm as well, although I do say firearm. I used to say weapon every now and again until someone yelled at me that it was a "tool" not a weapon.

I rarely say gun only because the whole "HE'S GOT A GUN" bothers me to no end.
It is utterly illogical to believe that passing laws to reduce gun violence will be successful when those who are commiting the gun violence do not obey the law.

    Regards,
LOL! Hey, I'm a gun-totin' liberal! Probably shouldn't have said that. And I said gun!

I have multiple weapons on my person that will ruin a BG's day if they so decide to threaten my life or that of my families. But there wasn't a choice for that so I didn't vote.

I have no problem saying "weapon" either. In my opinion, someone insisting that a pistol is not a weapon is too far gone in political correctness.

When I say "gun", I refer to a smooth-bore firearm (like a shotgun). Since my Glocks have rifling in the barrels, my #1 preference would be to say I carry a "pistol".
