    Cool Wearing a vest

I wear a 5.11 vest most of the time as a cover garment for my OWB with my P220 in it. CCW's see a vest and immediatley think "oh, he's carrying." So do LEO's. What I did was go to my local camera store and bought a sew on Nikon patch. Everyone knows that Nikon is a great camera. I sewed it on my vest above left pocket, and now most people who see it think it is a photographers vest. I like the vest, except that it used to scream shoot me first or I'm carrying. Now not so much. BTW, if someone should ask me about photography, I've done enough of it to discuss it intelligently. Concealed carry not only means cover, but camouflage too.

it was certainly not a LEO badge. I could see it quite clearly. It was worn on his front vest pocket over his chest area.

This guy was screaming "I am carrying!" It goes to show how stupid people are... unfortunately for him, bad guys will spot him from a mile away as a target to eliminate!

I see no tactical, personal or good advantage to this type of obviousness. Shame on him! Poor cover garment if you could see his holster.

Stormtruck: Good idea. If I really worry about showing, I either pocket the p32 or I wear a leather vest that has a built in holster.

It was indoors. He might have taken great pains to conceal his sunglasses.

Nah, you should have just pointed and laughed. That is my sadistic form of constructive criticism, I'm still working on my tact

I don't mean to seem confrontational, but you are making a big mistake if you are relying only on profiling. Anyone could be a threat. Remember guys, the BGs already have a HUGE advantage. SA is the only thing that gives us a chance of fighting back.

you're not going to believe me, but yes, he did have sunglasses. He just wasn't wearing them since we were indoors.

I know this falls into every stereotype for the over the top CCW'er, but there he was, larger than life.

I was at the dealership waiting for my car service and I saw this guy with a vest and I immediately looked more closely and sure enough, there was his PPK peeking out ever so slightly. Personally, I have no use for the vest anymore since LEO’s hone in on them too. I simply don’t want that kind of attention, regardless of how squeaky-clean I may be.
