In my younger years, I worked for National Guardian in Nashville. I was licensed to open carry while on duty. My primary function was to repair alarm systems. When we took a customer's system down, we became their system until it was back up.

I ran alarms late at night and got to know personally many of Nashville's finest. You will always find a few bad apples, but they were few and far between in that department... at least back in the late 80's. I still see older Cops TV shows where I recognize officers in Nashville.

Great news from my perspective...another scumbag taking a well-deserved dirtnap.

That PD Capt. has got it right.

Keep us up to date please, I don't like how at the end the police said they were interviewing witnesses to ensure the citizen was in the right to use his weapon.

Too bad their chief is pro sheep. They had him on the news yesterday or the day before bemoaning the fact that we might actually be able to protect ourselves in nice restaurants that serve booze. He'll get in front of a camera any time he can and toot his own horn, while tossing us under the bus.

He's also generated enough ticket revenue to get the fines added as a damn budget item in Metro. Can't give the rank and file a raise, but he spent over 10K a piece for laser devices to measure the distance between two cars...so they can write MORE tickets.

Great story and a great outcome!

The citizen did well. One bad guy down for good and one out there someplace possibly rethinking his choice of vocation.

And the police Captain who was interviewed was great. I'm not sure he could have worded it any better.

All around a good story. Thanks for the link!

Great story, thanks for sharing! They couldn't have picked a better LEO to interview either!
