    Florida Post Office Carry

What defines a post office in Florida that a CWP holder would be breaking the law if carrying? Does it have to employed by federal employees? What if it's locally owned self described post office, but doesn't have any federal employees? We have many pack and send places that you can drop mail off at, and they call themselves a post office.

Don't know about Florida state law.
From the federal perspective, if the land is owned or rented by the federal government, it is federal property. If the employees are federal employees (or contractors), their work space falls under federal jurisdiction.

A FedEx or Package store is engaged in interstate commerce, but is not a usps.gov post office.

As far as I've heard....legal to carry if you are legal to carry....

Nothing to be curious about. It's against the law to CCW in the P.O.
If a U.S. Postal Service Law Enforcement Officer / Agent finds you in possession you face a real bad day.

UPS Stores, FEDEX, Pak N Ship - none of those are Post Offices. The law refers to United States Postal Service centers. If the people that work there are wearing the Blue Postal Uniform with the Eagle Patch, you should turn around and walk back to you car and put your gun away.

It's pretty obvious when you are in a "real" post office....also when you aren't.

How about "you" carry in there and not worry about it,... If you get caught and put in jail, make sure you post up so we'll all know it is against the law to carry in there.. LOL.. j/k

I would agree with earlier postings that if they are dressed in the uniform, ya shouldn't be in there.. Go elsewhere to drop off your stuff,.. UPS - Wally world postal place - Etc,.

It's not posted...seriously. The post office in my city is NOT posted. I have searched high and low. The only sign pertaining to any law on the door refers to the punishment for ROBBING a US postal employee.....
