I'm in Kansas city, but about a 1/4 mile south of the Jackson co line. Cass county took care of me in about two weeks, but I didn't have time right away to drive down to harry'ville. They even continued my application process even though I wrote a personal check instead of a money order! Gotta love rural sherriffs offices!

I live in Jefferson county. It took 14 days start to finish...My wife has been waiting 3 months so far for her Utah permit.
Never argue with idiots - they'll drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

About 22 hours. Filled out my application at the Sheriffs office at about noon on a Friday and received the temp permit in the mail Saturday at about 10AM.
Thanks Pennington County Sheriffs Department.

In AZ they used to do it in a couple of weeks, but now they are saying 2 1/2 months because of the large volume of new applicants and understaffing.

VA took 3 weeks 2 yrs ago. Mailed non-resident FL March 23rd, still waiting.

My KS permit took 62 days from date of application until the date I received the AG's notice of approval. I have friends that are MO applicants and have taken anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months (depending on their county of residence).
Florida used to say 90 days, and usually you had it in 4-5 weeks.
Renewals were 10 days to door to door.
Now FL says 90 days, and you may have it in 100-110 days...same time frame for renewals, too!
The positive side to these long waits is that more and more individuals are taking the serious step to defend themselves.
