    Florida Concealed License Update

    Hello,
Well my Florida renewal license just arrived today
    Door to door 90 days.

Submitted on March 03, 2009, I dropped the paper work off at the Orlando Department of Agriculture Division of Licensing Office, and today received the License, June 03, 2009 = 90 days.

Printed on license; Issued 5/30/09-Expires 05/30/16

Sidebar:Paperwork,Electronic prints, copy of expiring license, postal money order.

I never did that Walmart Walk so I guess I will take care of that tomorrow.

Just curious what was the original exp. date. My renewal issue date was March 09 but the exp date stayed the same as my original, April 09.

eldorado: I'm a Fla resident with a ccl and I was wondering if you can tell me:

First: Do they send you the renewal notice and paper work?
Second: You said it took 90 days, but, how many days remained before the old license ran out?
Third: Do you need to get re-fingerprinted?

    Thanks.

    rolyat63,

"Just curious what was the original exp. date. My renewal issue date was March 09 but the exp date stayed the same as my original, April 09".

    My original date was 5/09

Freedomofchoice eldorado: I'm a Fla resident with a ccl and I was wondering if you can tell me:

First: Do they send you the renewal notice and paper work? YES about 150 days before expiration.

Second: You said it took 90 days, but, how many days remained before the old license ran out?

The expiration date appears on the front of your license. Approximately 150 days prior to the expiration date of your license, the Division will send you the renewal form with complete instructions on how to renew your license. To help assure the Division of Licensing has sufficient time to process your renewal application prior to the expiration date of your current license, complete and return your application immediately.

If for some reason you fail to renew your license by its expiration date, keep in mind that your Concealed Weapon or Firearm license can be renewed up to six (6) months beyond the expiration date in accordance with section 790.06(11)(a), Florida Statutes. However, there is a late fee of $15.00 for renewing after the expiration date. A concealed weapon license that has been expired for longer than six months cannot be renewed. If you fail to renew within that six-month period after expiration, you will have to apply for a new license. You cannot carry a concealed weapon or firearm after your license has expired.

Third: Do you need to get re-fingerprinted? NO

I opted to send my electronic prints to be "in the system"
I have plans to get a private investigators license in the new year and having my scanned prints in the system will help.

I hope this answers your ?'s

    Best,

    Thanks

Hmm... I sent mine out late February sometime, they cashed the check... no permit yet. Maybe it's in my mailbox today.

    I can only hope

I obtained my Florida CCW (non-resident) about 4-1/2 years ago.

I recently received the renewal packet from Florida, without having equested it. I did have to be re-fingerprinted and send a new photo. Renewal cost for non-resident was about $107.

I hope the renewal doesn't take 90 days....

All non-resident are required to be re-fingerprinted.
