    transfer of carry gun

I got my carry permit here in SC about a month ago. My birthday was a few weeks ago and my wonderful father gave me an LCP as a gift. I have been carrying it everyday since.

I know this was legal, but should I have some sort of bill of sale or something showing that the gun was given to me since I will be carrying this gun. If it were a plinking gun I wouldnt think about it, but if I ever have to use this gun I dont want that to be something that comes up.

I also have a Ruger SR9 that I have carried some, but with the heat this LCP is the ticket to just stick in a pocket and go.

    Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't worry about it since it was a gift from your father...OMO

I would not worry about it since itís our Dad. My Dad and I have given each other many guns over the years, and never did.

    Pocket carry

I like a nemesis holster for pocket carrying my P3AT and Glock 26... Just in case, itís nice to know the trigger is protected.

Had someone rear end me last year while I was riding my Harley. No big deal, it was wintertime and I had on a leather jacket and I only slid about 5 feet on my side. I was very thankful my Glock 26 was protected because that was the side I landed on.

Your perfectly legal and there is nothing that requires you to have any paperwork for the gun. Just enjoy and carry it.

IIRC, guns can be transferred up the family tree but not down? In other words, dad can give his son a gun but the son can't give his dad a gun.

What are you talking about? None of us here on this forum have any "paperless" firearms.
