It's of interest to me how few are Suspended or Revoked Although I'm not sure what the difference is or what the Void catagory is either.
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.

Minnesota has approximately 56,000 concealed carry permits. Last year TEN were suspended or revoked. Do you know how amazing that is? Concealed carry permit holders are INCREDIBLY law abiding.

Don't know for sure, but I would guess Voided would be from people who moved out of state or have passed away.

To clarify, Minnesota does not have concealed carry permits, as such.
A Minnesota permit is a permit to carry a pistol. It does not restrict
carry to concealed or open, both are legal.

I wonder what the difference is between "suspended" and "revoked"?
Regardless, only 10 permits suspended/revoked is amazing. Its yet more proof of the overwhelmingly law-abiding nature of carry licensees.

Though, I would expect people from other states to make that mistake, as most of them have CHP's. But, everyone in MN should understand the law well enough to know this.
I still see some MN instructors who advertise "concealed carry permits" ... makes me wonder how they can be an instructor if they aren't aware that the word "conceal" is never mentioned in the law, and in fact the word hurts us because it suggests that our permit is something less than what it really is.

(1) Applications Received is defined as the number of requests for fingerprint clearances received by the MSP for

(4) Average Cost Per Permit is based on information submitted via a survey of each county. Not all counties
submitted this information.

Clearance is based on a statistically significant sample of requests.
(2) Licensing Board Decision is based on MCL 28.425b(7)(n), which states that issuing a license would be
detrimental to the safety of the applicant or to any other individual.
