And by the way in GA a GFL (Georgia Firearms License) allows you to carry open or concealed.

Check out the mentioned site, but basically it's show up at your county's probate court, fork over about $46 (depends on county and if you can get electronic fingerprinting), fill out an application saying your not mental or a felon, do your fingerprints. That's it, oh and wait about 2 to 4 months for the GBI to do your background check. If you happen to be active duty military, then you don't need a license in GA.

yes military US or GA is exempt from needing a GFl georgia code 16-11-130.3
military can carry just like a cop courthouses, church, govt building, public gathering etc
if your planning on getting the GFL go now this month, july 1st the price goes up 20$ :(

Actually the law states you must receive your license within 60 days, but quite a few counties are turning them around much quicker than that, some within two weeks.

A trip to the probate judge for initial index finger and fill out paper work. Off to where ever your county does the finger printing - mine was the county jail - more paper work, then off to the sheriff's office to turn in paper work and more money. Must have exact change at each step of the process - at least in my county. Wait. With GCO on their backs, they have been turning them around pretty quickly.
