I was coming back home from a road trip and noticed an SUV with Vanity Plates that Stated GLOCKED. I think you can be proud with out being that Obvious. I think things like this make people who carry easier targets. Now I am not trying to start an OC vs CCW Debate , I just think it was probably an error in judgement. Would you go so far as to get Vanity Plates
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

Just for the sake of argument: Is this any different than an NRA sticker, or an RKBA sticker on your back window?
The above is vague and does not specify any type or style of gun. There are a lot of NRA members and RKBA advocates who are not concealed permit holders.
"GLOCKED" is a statement.
I have a buddy who has SIG226 as his plate. That's a statement.
Of course, my plate is DIVEBUM. That kinda says I have Scuba gear in my house, but then it doesn't say it's protected by the firm of Stoeger, Randall and Taurus.
It doesn't bother me.....mine has actually started some good conversations & if somebody doesn't like it....TOUGH! I didn't want to talk to them anyway!
I have the oval sticker on the back glass......Most people don't know what it means....I had a woman who thought it was a permit to ride in the HOV lanes on the interstate.
Some poeple can't even figure out the NRA license plate.......

It's one thing to be proud about supporting the Second Amendment. We all are. It's quite another thing to announce to the world that your packing a Glock.
As permit holders, we have to be very careful in how we conduct ourselves. Say this SUV owner is involved in a fatal shooting and winds up in court. The DA is going to have a field day with the GLOCKED license plate. He or she is going to try to convince the jury that the SUV owner is gun wielding yahoo who is just looking for trouble. A good attorney can get this done and the SUV owner will be in a lot of trouble, whether he or she was right or not.
This is something I think about everyday. I even consider how I post in these CCW forums. A good attorney will find this information and it doesn 't matter if you think that they won't figure out your username. They will find it.
"[A]rms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. . . Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them."
Did you hear about the guy that got about 175 various assorted violation tickets?
I don't remember what state it was in.
The guys license plate was just "0"
Not realizing that 0 was a legitimate plate # the state just used a 0 as there default test plate # for testing their automated ticketing system and the guy got clobbered with a slew of tickets all from places that he had never been to.

How do you know that the person with the "GLOCKED" plate was carrying a firearm? Or that they had a CCW permit?
