BTW, for non-Missourians, qualifying here means being able to put 17 of 20 shots into a standard sihlouette target (any where in the profile part) at 7 yards with no time limit.

Don't be like a buddy of mine who when told to shoot his first group, did a full body roll while running to the line, came up to a squat and screamed "Die commie Die!" as he fired.

Incredibly, he qualified and was given a CCW from Fresno County.

Sorry I did not get a chance to post last night but some family stuff needed tending to. The Class was great. It was held at our local police academy and taught by the police firearms instructors. So along with the useful info given us we heard a few story's along the way. Got to spend some time on the FATS machine (firearms training machine) doing shooting scenario's. If you ever have the chance to play on one jump at it. The qualifying is easy here in Missouri so it was just a matter of staying safe and punching holes in the targets. Again thanks for all the encouragement. Oh and by the way los it didn't take that long

Glad you enjoyed yourself, I certainly enjoyed my class.

I had a guy in my class who could really shoot, then made "smiley faces" in the target. A bit of a braggart, but good enough to where I sure wasn't going to argue with him!

    Congratulations Mike!
How long does it take in MO. to get the permit in your hands? Here in TN it took me 3 weeks from the time I did the fingerprinting, I know GA. and a few other states average several months.

I suggest celebrating, if not with buying a new gun then at least a nice Hawaian shirt!

Missouri has to issue within 45 days. The people around here have been running about 3 weeks. Once the Sheriff notifies me and I pick my paper work up. I have 1 week to get down to the Dept. of Revenue and get my CC endorsement on my Lic. or a separate I.D. I am leaving on a trip next week so 2 of those weeks waiting I will be out of town. I hope this helps the time to pass faster.
