Florida CCW- LEO access to permit holders

I am new, so I appologize if this is a repeat post. If I am stopped by LEO and give them my DL, does my CCW permit information pop up on their computer? I know that the data base is protected from any public or private inquiry, but I was not sure about automatic access by LEO. This leads to the decision on whether to provide the permit with the DL if stopped.

    Thanks,

The general answer to your question is that it varies by state. So if your traveling check state law on each state you will be traveling through. Handgunlaws.us can give you the answer for each state.

No, and also no need to inform.

My understanding is that Florida does not indicate on your DL record that you have a CWFL, so no matter where you might be, running your license will not indicate that you have a CWFL.

Whether it is required or not, I would normally inform the LEO of my 'legally armed Floridian' status...why not? (Not for a minor conversation, of course.)

Note that he specifically asked about Florida.......

    ......and the answer is no.

I don't believe the last statement is correct. I can find nothing on Handgunlaws.us that details whether or not permit databases are linked to either registration or DL databases.

For the general information of the group, the databases are not linked in Connecticut. Neither a DL nor a tag check will return the existence of a carry permit.

While he said a Florida CCW, the question itself does not specify what state your stopped in, only if the information is displayed to the LEO.

Your correct, it does not reference to data base, only if the state is a shall notify state on not.

If Florida doesn't enter the fact that you have a CWFL into it's driver's license data (which it doesn't), it's not going to pop up on any LEO search from another state.
