    My daughter's protecting herself now.

Carry class, and today we bought her a carry pistol. She liked the Walther PPK style, so I found a Century Arms in 9x19 Makharov that she liked. Tomorrow we'll find a holster for it.

I decided to make sure she got something sooner rather than later, as she a) lives downtown, b) has an abusive ex-fiance who blames her for the jail time he's doing and c) likes riding her street bike for fun, especially at night.

Now I as a gentleman can provide covering fire while my women are reloading

(Single, likes cats and motorcycles, bonus points for military/police/fire/EMT since she works nights. Has a protective father who is a pretty good shot though.)

Man, you had me until the cats! Congratulations on getting her trained. Both my daughters carry and have been shooting since they were six. Better shots than me! You might want to work on having her wrap her left hand instead of cupping the bottom of the grip. She'll be much more stable.

John K87, congratulations on your daughter's desire to defend herself. You raised her well. She's an attractive young lady, she should attract plenty of suitors. Being in my 30's, I daresay she's too young for me. You could develop a new holiday, Take your daughter to the range day.

I told her that I'd be posting a photo on some of my boards, and she was OK with it as long as they knew about what she liked. I told her I'd pass along any requests that met Dad's standards :)

Johnk87, I think that's awesome. Good for you and your daughter!! My daughter just turned 18 and has been going to the range with me for the last 6 months. They have to know how to protect themselves and not put up with any crap (physical/mental abuse and such). Keep practicing and be safe.

That carry piece is worth 1000 restraining orders. One less victim, one more free citizen.

Next time we'll bring the .22 Neos and really just work on form and stance. It's a little tough for her, she broke both wrists in a motorcycle accident two years ago and the recoil isn't comfortable, so she tends to jerk the trigger. It will get better.

Good job on getting the training!

Hope you can find a good holster, but "tomorrow" may not be enough time.
It is a shame that women who have abusive men in their lives do not all carry. The police will charge the man after he has killed the woman.

    Regards,
