Well, I finally got the time today to run to the court to submit my application and to the police station to get finger printed. Now its that waiting game. I do have some sort of comfort. My pops applied last month and had his in exactly 2 weeks. I cant wait.

Virginia is usually pretty quick. Mine took around a month the first time, and the renewal was about a week.

Depends on the county. They tried to hold mine past the 45-day statutory maximum, when I went in and asked on day 50 they said "it's not ready yet". I then requested a temporary permit, which they are required to issue by law after 45 days, and miraculously it was ready!

My little brother in Montgomery County, VA got his in like a week. He didn't have to be fingerprinted, I did. I'm still working on trying to get him to carry, but at least I got him to get a CHP. Maybe if I give him a Glock

Thanks for all of the replies. I was at Wal Mart today picking up a scope for my 10/22 and some 22 LR ammo. So I have been practicing my walk without the sidearm of course. I can't wait. The best part is I took my good buddy with me today so he could turn in all of his paper work too. He has been putting it off since 2003. Yes thats right 6 years of putting it off.

Seach wally walk and you will get some great examples of it. The walk is one of the most important steps to take after you get your CWP.

So I have searched and I guess I qualify. I have walked all over the local WW concealed a number of times already. Of course here in MT it really isn't a very big deal. Maybe I'll do it OC next. I'll see. I have OC'd in various places here and no one really bats an eye. I did strike up a conversation with a guy at a gas station and he was from Ca so he was a little bit hmmm at first, judging by his eyes looking at my gun, but all in all I have had no unusual experiences.

My WW doesn't sell steak. They are building a Super WW here though so maybe I'll hit that one up OC.
