    FL Non-Res CCW

    Application recived by FL 12/09/2008
    Check cashed 01/08/2009

    Fingerprint card reported as unclear in Apr 2009. Reprint was requested and received by FL on 05/04/2009

    Call to FL on 07/09/2009 revealed that the permit was in line to be granted and to expect mailing in "Two or three weeks". Representative said there were "56,000 files" awaiting clearance.

    I'm surprised that the fingerprints aren't done by computer.
    56k awaiting clearance ? Wow, sounds like they might want to hire some more help.

    Obviously you've never headed up a government department in time of a recession - or any other time.

    They can't simply "hire some more help" without authorization from the state legislature, in the vast majority of cases.

    I read recently the state was cutting the budget for the department by like 7 million dollars, I'm sure that wont help.

    I read that too blackjack. Something like them pulling a HUGE chunk of change from the budget of a small department like FL DOACS and giving it to a huge program, kinda a sketchy deal as I recall. Too bad for those on the waiting list still

    I mailed my app. on 3/03/09, issued 6/18/09, recieved 6/22/09, 111 days door to door.

    THe $7M theft was vetoed by the Governor.. The legislature was attempting to steal money from the fund that is supposed to handle upgrades & personell (paid by the applications) and use it for 'General Purposes'
