First time out with "complete coverage"!

Today was a special day for my wife and myself as it was our first time out with CC and I guess you could say we had complete coverage. Both of us carrying makes both of us feel much better as my wife is pretty much wheelchair bound. That sort of makes us easy prey in this fast changing environment. So she modified a purse, as she is an execellent seamtress and her PF-9 will be with her all the time now. I had my PT 111 Millennium Pro with me and so while we were shopping and also traveling, we had "complete coverage" so to speak. Yes Sir, today was special!

I don't ever want to use it but I don't want to be without it either!

Sounds like a good start... I'm sure the misses feels better too, now that she can carry herself...

Yeah, it does provide a greater sense of security. Unless one is carrying a cannon, it will eventually become second nature or as intuitive as clicking your seat belt. There are times when I have an autonomic reflex to insure that my gun is on my person.

My wife and I obtained our CHLs a few years ago. Although we were a little self conscious at first, we became more at ease over time. Now, it is second nature. I started out carrying a canon. Now the canon, a 4" 1911 45 ACP is in the door frame of the car and a much more concealable, more comfortable Ruger LCP .380 ACP is in my pocket. In most bad situations, the 380 will keep me alive until I can get to the 45.

The wife carries a Kimber Ultra Carry II with Laser Grips in her purse at all times. We joke around that she carries the bulk of the "heat".

As many say here, we want firearms to be the worst investment we have ever made (paying high $$$ for something never used). Both of us have a medical background. She has been a registered nurse for 29 years and is now the manager of an Emergency Room in Austin. My medical background is being a Firefighter/EMT with the local fire department. We are used to saving lives rather than taking them. However, we would not hesitate in order to protect ourselves.

    Congrats to you both!
