Sure, and I wish the amendment had passed. It would save me money, since I have 3 permits-home state of Nevada, then Utah and Florida, which allows me tom carry in 30 dome states. But I may travel to places that do not honor any of the permits, such as California. I would much prefer to be able to use my Nevada permit and go anywhere in the country.
I would love it if the majority of the states honored my NV CCW permit. I only have my NV permit & was about to mail off my UT package. Then this amendment appeared and I put a hold on my UT permit. Now I have to mail the UT package for more coverage.
From what I've read so far, UT & FL have a lot of duplication of coverage. I'll be satisfied to just have my NV & UT permits. Not that I'll ever need that much coverage in my travels all the same.
For all but 2 votes we would have have national reciprocity in 48 states. It would have been nice. Maybe next year!

I am okay with it as long as the other states have the same guidelines as my home state does.

This was a bill (law) being voted on, not an amendment. Amendments must be ratified by the states, not passed by Congress.
You wished this passed, despite stripping away the rights of the states and putting in another blow to the COTUS, for money? It'd save you money? Someone mentioned 30 pieces of silver in another thread.
How many here don't care about the Constitution or state powers? Raise your hands.

I have an issue with licensing a right.
The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

Sure. Why the heck not?
This is what we already have; states recognize other state's permits. E.g.,
Texas recognizes Washington's without reciprocity. MO recognizes any lawfully issued license from any political entity.
It would be better if everyone played nice and extended courtesy to their fellow citizens. Since some states won't, Uncle should fix the problem with a law of the sort just narrowly defeated.
Frankly, I don't give much of a hoot about "state's rights." We need to be
"ONE NATION INDIVISIBLE."
This was just defeated in the Senate by two votes. The reason driver's licenses are honored in all states is because all states have fairly uniform requirements for training in driving a car. One of the most persuasive arguments that torpedoed this bill was the fact some states don't require any handgun training or knowledge of laws at all. To me, we all would benefit if that were just standardized to some degree. If the state object to that then how about having two grades of licenses; One is a state license that meets only your state's requirements. If you wanted a U.S. license, simply take more classes to meet a higher training/law requirement to make states with more requirements happy. We are making this harder than it has to be.
By the way, that's "One nation under God, Indivisable"...
at the rate of decay that the socialists are taking us, soon it'll be ONE NATION INVISIBLE...

What daft schmuck (or schmucks) decided that to "bear arms" would have no meaning except for meaning openly, only? There is no evidence in the Constitution that give anyone authority to deny it by degrees, so far as I can tell. Seems to me the language is clear: keeping and bearing arms is a right. Not, bearing according only to how government hack #216 says. Why do you think concealed carry is a right?
Here in Oregon, too, daft schmucks for generations have attempted to eviscerate what is essentially crystal clear language in the OR State Constitution: "The people shall have the right to bear arms for the defence [sic] of themselves ..." That doesn't mean it's a right until Ginny Burdick's silly sensibilities get in the way, or it's a right until the state senate legislates it to hell and gone (without daring to touch the Constitution). It means the people have the right to defend themselves via bearing arms.
