I'm just one root in a grassroots organization. No one should assume that I speak for the VCDL.
I am neither an attorney-at-law nor I do play one on television or on the internet. No one should assumes my opinion is legal advice.

yes and done 95% to 5% let's keep the heat on...
Damn skippy.
I can't believe that more people in the community aren't enthusiastically supporting the Thune-Vitter amendment. National Reciprocity isn't about the Fed's ramrodding CCW down the throat of the states. It is the feds making sure that the states respect individual rights. Bout time! It's nonsense that most of us have three or more licenses and still have some places that we aren't able to carry due to training issues and others b/c they won't respect outside licenses no matter the issuing states.

I was wondering about this too. I've heard some pro 2As (on this site I think) that are against this bill because it is a first step toward centralizing 2A rights to the Fed. If this proceeded farther to the point that all CCW and firearms licensing was under fed control, it could all be switched off at a single point rather than at 52+ points.
I've only recently re-entered the gun world which I was last in when I was about 14 and never thought about such things. What do you guys think?
Voted "Yes" (although I am not convinced that a national law is the right answer to the problem). Current results:
Do you think states should honor other states' concealed carry permits?
Yes 95%
No 5%
Total: 2543 votes

I really don't think these poll results necessarily reflect support for the Thune-Vitter Amendment. They do show that they want the results of such an amendment. There is no indication from this poll that the people with these feelings want this amendment passed.

Done. I think the BOR should apply to all Americans, instead of just some of them.

I too have noticed that people aren't distinguishing between National Reciprocity and National CCW. The state of residence of the carrier remains the issuing authority in the former. National reciprocity is no more of a segue toward centralized federal control of handgun licenses any more than national reciprocity of the driver's license is some grand scheme for the .fed to become the authority of that process.
