I lock mine in the console.
This is a discussion on Securing when can't carry. within the Concealed Carry Issues & Discussions forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I lock mine in the console....
I use a COM safe...it works well. A determined well prepared thief will most likely still get to it, but it will keep a smash and grab thief from getting to it. Also, it's portable (you can move it to a different car easily) and isn't obvious to the public as to what's in it. There are other options available...

In glove box or center console locked. Also, in my opinion, if anyone can see the safe they might want the safe and thus break into your car.
I do not see any real specs on the COM gun safes. What are they made of, total dimensions, etc?
+1 - My wife and I have one in each vehicle. My question on another thread was whether or not I lock in my COM safe (under my driver's seat) qualifies as having it locked up as in the trunk. Anyone know?
If I go onto Skyline Drive where cc is still illegal, and I lock my rig under the driver's seat, am I covered?

Same thing COM sells and at the same price.

From what this site says, yes.
Traps, nets and unloaded weapons may be possessed within a temporary lodging or mechanical mode of conveyance when such implements are rendered temporarily inoperable or are packed, cased or stored in a manner that will prevent their ready use. (b) Carrying or possessing a loaded weapon in a motor vehicle, vessel or other mode of transportation is prohibited, except that carrying or possessing a loaded weapon in a vessel is allowed when such vessel is not being propelled by machinery and is used as a shooting platform in accordance with Federal and State law.

I can't fit a single gun safe under the seat in my small pickup truck, so I put the pistol under the seat, and leave a very large dog to keep the gremlins away. He has a definate attitude about strange people messing with his truck!

We can carry in Florida vehicle as most of you know as long as it is in a "closed" container... zipped leather case works for me. Fits in the driver door pocket almost completely out of site. Easy to retrieve if needed while driving if not carrying. If it is noticed (never had a car break in other than a total theft in Cleveland Ohio 30 Years ago) it looks like a CD case as you only see the edge of it. Insured if stolen.
