Does Sotomayor Confirmation = 2nd Run on Guns and Ammo

After Obama's election we obviously saw a huge run on guns and ammo. Do you think with Sotomayors confirmation we'll see another run like the first one?

    Let's hope not!

I still can't manage to magically appear at the wal-mart ammo case between the time the 9mm gets wheeled out from the back and the vultures swoop down and pick-it apart.

I was there at flippin' midnight and saw them attempting to find shelves to stock the immense supply of shotgun shells they had, hell I think they've rolled back prices on that stuff. Went back at 7 this morning to see 1 box of WWB of .357 sig and a couple of .44 mag that hadn't been to the case yet. Still no 9mm,

I hate going to Wal-Mart to buy ammo and avoid if I can unless it is 12 gauge target loads that I can just pick up on my own without asking an employee. I was pleasantly surprised to find my favorite gun store had a small stock of Remington UMC 250 round boxes of 115 gr. 9mm. I have finally reached my goal of 1000 rounds of 9mm! I was starting to think that huge run on gun and ammo sales was starting to die down, but I could be wrong.

I doubt it. Her views don't seem to be all that different from Souter's, as best we can tell, so there hasn't really been much of a change.

Doubtful. It's not like people have a lot of expendable income lying around these days to go out and buy a second gun

That was my first thought as well but then as the cob webs cleared from my 51 year old mind, I remembered my first handgun purchase in 1979. Between my wife and I, we collectively own 22 handguns. Everyone has to start somewhere.

My bank account hopes so. That last run paid for an engagement ring AND most of a wedding. Viva hysteria!

I've heard that a lot of the 'shortage' was due to first-time buyers...

I doubt very seriously if this new Associate Justice will trigger a new incentive to buy any additional guns. It's not like she were a "radical" anti-gun appointee for the first few years of her life long term. She will most likely just have a liberal bias on some issues.

Not to mention that my budget can't handle another gun buying binge. Between the guns, ammo, etc. I can't afford to spend the same amount of money again! Once every few years is good enough for me.
