One other thought is I don't live where you do, so I may not understand what threats you see every day.

    Varies

Generally, one Sig P245 on person in Brommeland IWB holster. While driving, additional HK P7M8 on front passenger seat, under small workout towel. Occasionally (albeit rarely), additional S&W 360SC .357 (2 inch, 12-ounce) in pocket.

IMHO Two should be enough w/extra mags, as long as you wear a tinfoil hat while doing it

I think if you want to carry as many guns as you can! Then you should!

"How many guns is too many to carry?"

    As in pistols?
Arguably three; definitely four. The argument for three should include positional access.

Thats the reason I actually even started carrying a BUG, so my friend who is a Armed Guard without a CC could be armed if the brown stuff hits the propellers. Also....she's a better shot then me.
I know not what this "overkill" means.

Honing the knives, Cleaning the longguns, Stocking up ammo.

I rebel against the concept of "Too Many Guns." Too many guns is just something my wife says when she thinks I am spending too much time on the reload bench.

Edit: Geno's ammo/magazine argument is pretty sound though. Keeping 1 caliber with interchangeable magazines is a pretty good idea if multiple carrying. Not always possible, but a good strategy when making the purchases.
No one 'cares' about the number of guns he carries. We are simply providing feedback because he asked for it.

Ah. That sets my mind at ease. I must be tired and missed the point. I know I am tired and cranky, one follows the other I am sure.

Is there a legal limit to what constitutes too many concealed weapons? Do the Feds or the States get cranky if you have 10 derringers in your cargo pants? What about 10 derringers and a Super Blackhawk?

I like this answer , its thought provoking
Why take on two or more BGs when a friend can help out?
Sure would level the playing field if things go bad IMO.

I prefer two on duty, two or three off duty. One I can access while sitting, one I can have my hand on without anyone knowing (perfect example: shady character while in line at gas station), and the last one is in a position I can get to quickly and naturally. As far as retention goes, they can't see them to grab them, but for the sake of argument if someone did try to grab one, I can use a different one, a knife or H2H (scene from The Rock comes to mind). For me it is not for the extra ammo (that's a lot of ammo with the extra mags), but for the different options I can choose from. I don't like only having ONE and ONE only choice when having to take action. Also, being able to arm an unarmed friend or family member or two is beneficial as well.
Gun control can be blamed in part for allowing 9/11 to happen.

I just don't have enough ass to keep my pants up when I carry two plus the magazines. Maybe I need to start using suspenders......

Comfort is an issue and 3 guns is not going to be comfortable for me. I sometimes carry a gun in the truck that I can access while sitting and the other in a pocket holster.
    js,

If you are touching your gun and giving it a "reassurung pat" I would get a better holster and belt combo.

The "pat" is the mark of someone new to carry. I very seldom touch my gun once it's in the holster.
