Way too long!
I've been seeing 45 to 70 days in Kansas. Now is a great time to decide what you are gonna carry, how to carry it (some holsters may take longer to get than your permit), get some self defense ammo and make sure it and your gun get along, and finally get some range ammo and practice practice and um practice.

Come play the waiting game along with me.....It's real real fun......Its a race to see who gets theirs first......If it makes any difference here in my small town I had to get my prints taken the old fashioned way because the old guy in charge couldn't figure out how to use the electronic scanner...........I turned mine earlier but you may already be a step ahead of me......The race is on...
I feel your pain.
The wife just went to the class with the Sheriff in our county. She had been on the list for the class since January. No kidding. There were 150 applicants ahead of her and she is just now getting the class done. Now it's shoot at the range on Saturday and file the application. WV says 45 days from the date of the application to when the permit is issued, but I suspect with the large number, that wait will be much longer. We are not required to be fingerprinted in WV, but they do a background check. You can take a class outside of the Sheriff's Office, but they are getting stupid expensive and classes are huge.
We can probably thank the guys and gals in Washington, DC for the sudden deluge of applications. Good luck, stay calm and you will get it eventually.
