I'm the only lobbyist who endured the 9 year battle for Shall-Issue concealed carry in Colorado (my apologies, too -- it could have been so much better).

We were the group that broke the story in December of 2002, when we found out that some sheriffs were entering permit holders into CBI's criminal database (that's what THEY called it).

That practice was codified in 2003 (with the passage of SB24) and again by another bill, which re-authorized it.

So, as it sits now, Sheriffs can enter you into a CCIC (they call it something different, but it's accessed the same way) if they choose to.

It's a great litmus test for Sheriff's candidates.

Always feel free to ask questions of RMGO -- that's our job.

Welcome! I visit your site frequently, as well as harass you on other matters occasionally. Stick around!

Does the CBI have their own list too?

I'm an RMGO member for about two so far. I find them a very good source in Colorado for 2nd Admendment support. We just need more CO members.

I'm in Douglas, CO and Sheriff Weaver does not enter our names into the database.
