Live in Utah, born in Omaha...thus, good news for sure!
Check carefully my friends. Recently several cities/towns in Nebraska could still forbid CCW. Verify with the locals.

This kind of makes me want to come up with a reason to do a little tourism in Nebraska sometime soon. That's excellent!
That's good,my kid lives in Omaha, but in NE cities have the right to ban CC IIRC so there are certain towns you will be in trouble if your ccing as it's not state wide

With the change in law NE now has preemption. Cities can not have laws banning concealed carry. Any regulations they have on the books are null and void if they concern the carrying of concealed firearms. They can pass regs against open carry.
Not as I read this:
Nebraska Legislature - Nebraska State Statute Section 17-556
Nebraska Revised Statute 17-556
Revised Statutes » Chapter 17 » 17-556
Public safety; firearms; explosives; riots; regulation.

17-556 Public safety; firearms; explosives; riots; regulation. Cities of the second class and villages shall have power to prevent and restrain riots, routs, noises, disturbances, or disorderly assemblages; to regulate, prevent, restrain, or remove nuisances in residential parts of municipalities and to designate what shall be considered a nuisance; to regulate, punish, and prevent the discharge of firearms, rockets, powder, fireworks, or any other dangerous combustible material in the streets, lots, grounds, alleys, or about or in the vicinity of any buildings; to regulate, prevent, and punish the carrying of concealed weapons, except the carrying of a concealed handgun in compliance with the Concealed Handgun Permit Act; and to arrest, regulate, punish, fine, or set at work on the streets or elsewhere all vagrants and persons found without means of support or some legitimate business. The first quote covers 2nd class cities & villages. The second quote covers Metropolitan class cities (their largest). While there are other classifications in between these two sizes, all of their laws carry similar language. Looks to me like the state has preemption.Nebraska Legislature - Nebraska State Statute Section 14-102
Concealed weapons, firearms, fireworks, explosives.
(6) To punish and prevent the carrying of concealed weapons, except the carrying of a concealed handgun in compliance with the Concealed Handgun Permit Act, and the discharge of firearms, fireworks, or explosives of any description within the city, other than the discharge of firearms at a shooting range pursuant to the Nebraska Shooting Range Protection Act;

That's good to know. Now, after spending my first 20 years in Nebraska, why would anyone want to go there? (I know, relatives, but why else). The only more boring drive across a state than Nebraska is Kansas!

Our neighbor from the west speaks wisely!

(We won't tell them I lived in Lexington for 35 years, OK?)
I'm glad to see this. My father-in-law lives in Valentine, my daughter in Omaha and I still have a few friend's in Lexington (that haven't cleared out or died) I like going back to Nebraska (in the fall and spring).

As of Oct 20, Colorado recognizes the Nebraska CC permit (if the permittee resides in Nebraska). Handgunlaw.us has already published this information, but the update here may prove useful to someone.

The Nebraska State law that makes it legal to concealed carry preempts any county or municipal law. It was an issue here for a while that we in Omaha could not get the permit. But it was overturned with the basic legal principle we all learned in civics classes.
Federal law preempts State law. And State law preempts County or Municipal laws.
