Florida In Person CWP electronic filing.

Ladies and Gents, this is straight from the horse's mouth. You can apply for a CWP at your closest Regional Office and have it in your hands between 3 to four weeks.

I had to go to downtown Miami for another license and I went ahead and asked about the "rumor" regarding being able to file your CWP paperwork there. The very polite worker sent me to another office that deals only with CWP and I was given the information: You will need proof of ID (2), the fee in check or money order and proof of your training. That's it! The Regional Office will fill the paperwork electronically, take your fingerprints also electronically and even take the picture. After that, go back home and wait 3 to 4 weeks for it to arrive in the mail.

Give them a call. Renewals are quick.

I know, this is good for new people. I and many others are still waiting on Tallahassee to process ours. This would have been much faster!

yea, when it came up in another thread i posted this. They started in June but kept it unadvertised. Wait time is running about 1 to 2 weeks through the branch offices and about 60-80 days from Tallahasse.

will this work for nonresident permits as well?

I took the class a while back, but have been dragging my feet since I hate paperwork so much.
I looked up the Tampa office and it's 15 minutes from me!

You should call one of the branch offices and ask. From Tenn., the closest would be in Fort Walton Beach. I would assume if they do it you'd have to be there in person to apply.

Miggy - the 3-4 weeks is the standard answer coming out of the department.. My brother went into the Orlando office. He was out in less than 30 minutes and it came in 10 days. Weds appt arrived the next Friday.

That is great news royalt. It surprised me that in Miami they had an office just for CWP. The rest of the permits were run from another. I guess enough hell was raised :)

Miggy, just wondering, I have only seen one CWL that has come from the new express process offices and I am curious about your license number.

Does your license number prefix with "WX"?

Mine is old school, it starts with W which is the prefix that denominates it is a CWP.
