That is in IV Corps just northeast of the seven sisters mountains. Our corpsman, the LT, and I slept in the same hootch. Had all the brains in one place, right. Also, spent time at the intersection of the French Canal and the Mekong right near the Cambodian border.
Just found the Mekong/French Canal on Google Earth. Tough area and major NVA infiltration zone if I remember correctly. My uncle was in the Seabees in WWII and they had their weapons with them at all times. Good men.
    Sig 226, 228. Glock 19, 23. Smith Model 60,and 1911. XD45 Tactical. Mossberg 930 SPX.

How we behave as gun owners is important. Posturing and threatening does not serve us well in the public eye.

We controlled the rivers and most of the good rice producing land along the rivers. The VC infiltrated more in the hills and mountains. As late as 1975 we were still running barge convoys up the Mekong to Phenom Phen from Thailand. I got my anchor and globe on the campaign ribbon only because my battalion was attached to the Third Mardiv in I Corps. You corpsmen got yours the hard way. Hand salute to all the guys called Doc out there.

The number 1 way to get your butt kicked by a U S Marine is to mess with his corpsman.

When it comes to defending our "Doc's", compassion is not even in the vocabulary .

Thanks to all the "Doc's who protected and healed us.
