I took my class at American Shooters.
Thank you all for the great info. I have several places to choose from now.

    Thanks again,

Sorry to hear that you had a problem. However, I took my class at The Gun Store, and there was no problem. The information presented was correct, and the class went well. he instructor was certified in Utah ans Florida as well, and I was able to get all 3 CCW permits because of t. While I don't travel a lot, I do go back home to Virginia periodically (although since my mother passed away last month, I probably won't go as often). Because of the Fla and/or Utah, I could carry in Va during all f my trips the past 3 years.

Hello to all, and thanks Shotdown! I had issues registering last night, but I finally got on board.

If anyone has question about CCW in Nevada and especially Las Vegas, feel free to ask. There is a LOT of misinformation about Las Vegas and some of it is actually generated by instructors.

I'm not going to start by bashing anyone or any store/range, but........

I also don't want to abuse the forum by posting too many details, advertise overtly, or compete by comparison. But, if you want to know how my course differs in training technique or anything else, just shoot me a PM.

    Thanks.

Now, on to read other threads.

Hi Kurt. Welcome. I am the OP of the request for info and several kind folks have recommended you. I am trying to visit a friend at the end of November so even if I don't get there in November I will contact you when I finalize my plan. Where do you do the live fire portion of the class?

My friend lives off of Ann Road off the 215.

    Thanks for checking in.

I just got back from Vegas a week ago and I used Kurt Gepke. He's quick accurate and inexpendsive for a one-on-one course. In Nevada you are required to qualify with the specific (Model, Make, etc) semi-auto you are going to carry and any revolver. The semi-auto rule is going to change to any semi-auto soon. Kurt let me use his revolver and you could rent a semi-auto if the range happen to have the make and model you would carry. The range he uses is very clean and fairly close. It was on Tropicanna I belive. It will take a seperate week day to go over to LVMPD fingerprint division. They are fairly quick and very professional. They will also offer to make additional prints for more states, so think it through and you could also do FL VA, and UT prints at the same time. If you get a NV you may only want FL in addition.

It takes specific training for UT and NV, but FL uses any CCW training.

Dang 2 years...brutal. I don't have half that time here yet and I'm already chomping at the bit to go home.

Also, I would think if you ran a business you would leave some indication you were going to be gone for an extended period, voice mail or otherwise.

And...this freaky albino spider just crawled on my arm while I was typing this post...UGH I hate this country!

The range is American Shooters at Darville and Spring Mountain.

How does Metro make prints for other states? They do it electronically. Do they print out the scan? Are they acceptable to other jurisdictions?

+1 on Kurt. Used him 2 years ago for my CCW. Great teacher

They just re-print them from the digital so you can mail them in with your packet. You have to remember that Las Vegas runs on tourist money. i am firm believer that is why you must train and apply in person. I'm sure there is a fee for the second set of prints.

Very nice. Clark County makes this pretty easy.
