I carry my .380 more than I carry my 9mm because of the comfort and concealabe ease. Of course I have personal defense ammo loaded.

357 with my reloads that are either a hot 38+p or a lower end magnum to keep them just manageable enough for the wife.
I wouldnt carry anything less for SD.
Actually the 2 smallest are the 38 Special and the 9MM. I carry both roughly equally.
If the ultra small/light 380ACP pistols like the KelTec P-3AT and LCP did not exist, there are times and places where I would consider carrying something as mousey as a 22LR. In my world, sometimes concealability trump caliber.

One time I carried a .32 I borrowed from my father in-law. I felt uncomfortable, I kept thinking if something bad went down how I would have to have a head shot with that little mouse gun...when it is warmer outside I really like to carry my .380 Bersa Thunder Plus. Still feels a bit small but the 16 rounds are a nice thought.

If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?
45 ACP is what I own and carry
Smallest caliber that I currently carry is 9mm. But I would be perfectly comfortable carrying a .38 or even a .380 with today's well designed ammo.
Zipping up my flak jacket for this one
But i'll carry a .22 LR before i'll carry nothing. After reading studies of the equivalent of Israeli Air Marshalls using .22 LR, I gained perspective on the round. I'll never carry it over my .40 S&w.

IMO, I'd carry a 22LR over a .25 any day. The velocity makes it a better round than the slower .25.

I'd carry a quality made .22 if I could find one not one made today that I've seen yet.
