Cop Suspended for Flashing Gun at Unruly LIRR Riders
NEW YORK (AP/1010 WINS) -- Authorities say a New York City police officer has been suspended without pay following his off-duty arrest on charges that he displayed a handgun while trying to quiet unruly train passengers.

Officer David Hendrick pleaded not guilty Monday in Hempstead to a felony charge of criminal possession of a weapon and a lesser charge of menacing. He was held on $2,500 bond or $1,000 cash.
Defense attorney Steve Worth refused comment.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority police say Hendrick was riding a Long Island Rail Road train to Ronkonkoma Sunday night when he showed his a gun to quiet down four passengers who had attended a New York Rangers game.
The 38-year-old Brentwood resident joined the NYPD 16 years ago and was assigned to the Manhattan Traffic Task Force.
