If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?
Believe me, you handled it better than I think I would've. Here's my idea of how that conversation would've gone with me instead.
Employee: "We can have your name engraved upon it along with your permit."
Me: "Cool, can I get some sort of leather bracelets to wear on my wrists also? This way when I'm arrested for impersonating a cop the handcuffs won't be able to bite into the skin so deeply."

Somehow i think you could have bought several of these without showing your carry permit.BUT.... As I was about to leave, there they were. CHL Badges. I guess the guy didn't catch the look of disgust on my face as I was eyeing them. He said something to the effect of, "We can have your name etched on there in a couple of days with your carry permit."
I don't get it.Do people who wear these think they are cops?
The only way I would buy a CCW badge is if they had a 'combo' sale. A big bright badge and a CCW flashing light rack for the top of my car...![]()
"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

Unfortunately there are those who like the CCW badges, although I can't understand why anyone would want one. The shop is just trying to make money. I have actually had customers ask if we sold them in our gunshop and my response has always been, no we don't consider CCW badges to be a good idea. But hey, to each his/her own.

They are a pawn shop trying to make a buck. No doubt there are Mall Ninja types out there who will actually spend money on that stuff.
Badges.... We don't need no Stinkin Badges!!!!

Well, curiosity got the best of me. I had to see what this CCW sash thing was because I never heard of it. I ran across this article that frankly, made me laugh out loud the whole time reading it.

I was going to start a thread about this after I saw an ad for these in a gun magazine. I thought they were pretty stupid.
I'll have to check the archives, since you say it's been beat to death - I haven't seen a thread on it since I joined.
There was a guy at the Gun Show I was at most recently selling them, he was getting lots of nibbles from the newbies streaming out of the CWP class even as the instructor, a long time LEO that I took my class from, was urging them otherwise.
I walked up when he was pitching them to a big crowd. He used the scenario: "What if you're in a convenience store and have to take down an armed suspect? Don't you want the cops to be able to come in and see your badge to know you're a permit holder?"
I asked if it was possible for even a bad guy to buy one of the badges too... and I didn't get a response.

I'm appalled that they would try to sell that crap, now in Texas if they had a big CCW belt buckle that could double as a dinner plate, that would be a great item

Besides the two in the link BuckeyeEric posted, does anyone think they ever sold any of the sashes? I mean the badge idea is bad enough!
I gotta say, some of my best deals on gun purchases have been between these two pawn shops that I know about. One's next to my office and the other is close to my house. Both have a great selection of firearms and pretty good prices too. I don't buy much of anything else there though, just guns and ammo.![]()
