Its amazing how much more aware you are now of whats going on around you, than before you started carrying.

I've been carrying for a month now, but it feels like its been much longer. I just ordered my crossbreed holster today, and from what I see/hear it seems like thats the holster to buy if you don't want to spend money on tons of holsters. A quality holster is just as important as the clothes you wear to conceal. Always do a bend check and arm raise check. Part of the biggest high in carrying IMO is knowing no one else knows
plus you've joined a special group. You are no longer a sheep. The next best thing you can do is educate yourself. Knowledge is power.

Congrats.. I had my 1st time not long ago, was nervous but now don't think too much about it.
I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

Its been 37 years for me but by the time you hit 6 months as you stand in front of your dresser in the morning its watch, wallet, comb, gun, spare mag, pocket change, coffee...form the habit now and always carry.

It's okay for you and/or your girlfriend to be nervous. What's important is that that those nerves translate to respect for the firearm, and due caution & good training - rather than run away from the responsibility.

I've had my CHL for about 3 months now, and have carried every single day since I got it. Having the right belt & holster makes all the difference. Having a 0.9" thick 9mm doesn't hurt, either!

Congrats, always glad to hear that we have a new member of the CCW fraternity.

Been carrying for 16 yrs, the nerves go away, but the awareness never will or should. Learn about your surroundings and situations considering that you are carrying. Where to sit in a restaurant, things like that, never quit learning.

    Good luck
