I voted no simply b/c I wont be getting my permit until the following week.
If I had it though, I would carry. I see no reason to do anything any differently on trick or treat night than any other night. A deadly threat is still a deadly threat.

Carry especially while trick or treating. Gotta defend against zombies and all....
Preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse or Rapture....whichever comes first.
Of course. The only thing different about Halloween is the bad guys are better disguised.

I could understand the reasoning someone might have for not carrying... look at the Baltimore Cop who pulled on a guy working in a haunted house (ok, he was drunk, a little different situation). but trick or treat is usually early enough to still have daylight, so I dont think anyone with good SA would have trouble distiguising a real threat from a guy w/o a chain on his chainsaw

While I don’t have any kids (that I know of) I voted yes, as coriantan points out what better time for the BGs to blend in.
When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.

I don't. I am single with no children, therefore no need to go Trick or Treating. I just stay in on that night every year. Plus teenagers come begging for candy in my neighborhood. I say when you're in High School it's time to start going to Halloween parties with your peers. Some of them got very pushy a couple of years ago. I don't hand out candy anymore and turn off my lights until Trick or Treat hours are over.
Of course I plan to carry. I'll do it for the children.
Why wouldn't someone carry on Halloween? It's another day, just like the other 364.
Is there one day a year that crime takes a day off?

Unfortunately I won't be carrying.I'm taking the family to my sister's house in California so that pretty much explains why.
I did however incorporate a real machetti into my costume. I took the edge off of it with a grinder so it's blunt now, but it will make a mean club if it has to. I took the edge off for two reasons; first so I don't slice one of the kids on accident. And second, I don't know what kind of trouble I could get in for walking around with a real machetti. I figured better safe than sorry if I wind up getting any questions about it.
All that said I'd certainly be carrying if I could and will be armed when at the house.
My vote "Yes" may be an expansion of what you mean by "Trick 'R Treating" as I will not be out collecting but opening the door giving.
However, why treat opening the door on that night ant different?

Don't celebrate the pagan ritual. "No candy" signs on the door tell the story to the neighbors. Live with it.
lets see.......
will I be awake...Yes, in the shower....no
then I will be carrying
but then again, just remembered I'll be on duty the evening of Halloween![]()

If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?
Just another day. I'll have my pants on so I'll be carrying!

Of course.
Why wouldn't I or anyone?
Same as I or anyone might carry when they leave their home to do anything else.
Only thing I do different and special for Halloween is to carry openly and as activated my tac light for purpose not of seeing where I'm going but for keeping an eye on the periphery as related to who else might be out there.
Yes we do travel in packs among lots of other kids and parents.
But still it's under a moon sky and in darkness crime consistently occurs most consistently, though not specifically because the day is Halloween and thus for some reason more or less different than any other date on a calendar.
People fall victim to crime and are killed on Christmas too, also a day I and others will carry when leaving their home.
