Sorry man, but when I got to that part I almost spit up my beer...

JMO but, she needs a reality check. Why try to entice a possible attack by some low life that could put you both in danger, just because you're armed. She should know that the last thing in the world you want to do is to shoot anyone.

The wife of a guy I used to work with flashed a bunch of cash at a local casino. When she left she was followed and robbed at a stop light. It cost her the money, her jewelry, and nearly her life. She ended up getting beaten and slashed with a knife.

She's going to get you killed. She'll blurt out, "Do something, you have a gun!" before you get anywhere near it, and have time to act. Seriously, this qualifies in my book as almost maliciously stupid. She can NOT be that clueless...

Ok guys enough of the blonde jokes already. I'm blonde, 5'2", weigh about 100lbs, and I carry a kimber ultra carry 45 and a kimber aegis (I can shoot them both too). So not all blondes don't get it!

But to your girlfriend- I just finished a really good book by a woman on personal defense. It starts off with very basic "be aware and protect yourself" type issues. The title of the book is "Personal Defense for Women" by Gila Hayes. She's an ex female cop, now does personal defense lessons. Very informative. Might be a great Christmas gift that might carry a hint too!

Ever been in a bar and see a woman doing everything she can to instigate a fight between a couple of guys? Hmmm....

I ask her what the heck she thinks she's doing, and she says "it's OK, you're carrying".

No. It is not OK. Yes, I'm carrying, and will defend myself and her, but it's not OK to do things you wouldn't do otherwise because of that. I do not WANT a confrontation (as much as the liberals think we are bloodthirsty fools out looking for trouble). I talk to her about it, and she agrees to cut it out.

Then today we are going to 711 to cash her winning scratch off ticket. We've got 2 guys walking toward us, and what does she do, waves her ticket around saying she won. Again, this is NOT OK. I ask if she'd ever do that if I wasn't around and she says no. I have to go through the whole talk again.

How many times am I going to have to cover this before it gets drilled into her head?

Anyone else dealt with this kind of thing?
That is about as bad as my wife leaving the front door hanging open while she is home alone bringing in groceries.

It comes from watching too much TV. They think it would be exciting and heroic to watch you shoot a BG. I've seen people head shot and believe me, she'd be puking her guts out and in therapy for the next 50 years. I have yet to see a realistic shooting victim in the movies. There's no glory in it. If there were a better way to save lives I would choose it.

Listen to the smart money, dump her!

The first time she's mugged (if she survives) will be the last time she pulls one of those stupid stunts.

She needs education: take her to a NRA Personal Defense course, just to get her a good idea of how seriously detrimental her behavior is. It may get you injured or killed. One simply cannot be walking arourd like that! It's Barney Fife runnin' around with his gun in his hand and not knowing what to do with it!!!!!

    I'm afraid Biomortis is right.
I saw something similar in the green troops we got from the nearby police academy.

They weren't worth a happy darn until they got their first good butt whippin'.

If she survives her first mugging she will be lucky.

I know there's a blond joke here somewhere...in all seriousness, you can't get new parents, children, or resurrect yourself. Been there and done that kinda stuff with a gf who liked to tease other guys while we were out. Not worth the hassle! Wish you the best and pls stay safe!

Bro, I think you're selling yourself short.

She sounds either very immature or too much of a space cadet.

Either one leads to boring conversation in your older years and in the short run, she could get you jammed up in a dangerous situation.

And as we all know with dangerous situations... no matter how good you are in your combat skills, there's no guaranteed outcome.

I wish you luck... But if she doesn't get on board soon, I wouldn't put a ring on her finger.

    I'm just sayin...

    Best of luck, bro!

I am not sure how old you are but you probably do not have children. You can tell the kids twice in 10 seconds and they still don't get it either. I am not sure they get it after the millionth or ten millionth time either. You have to get her the right education and have a little patients. Send her to something specifically for women.

There is a 20 year-old female friend of my wife that comes over to the house quite a bit. She would leave her car unlocked, sun roof open, purse on the floor, keys in the ignition, and once the passenger side door wide open. She was/is completely unaware of the bad things that happen to good people. I would read her post titles from the Good, Bad, and Ugly section. I gave her a good lecture about personal safety. She finally caught on. She now locks her car and rolls the windows up. She does not get an A+ but a D for effort. She knows what she should do, but is often too pre-occupied to be aware of what is going on around her. Hopefully she will wise up before something bad happens to her.

Start playing games with her. Go sit somewhere and ask her who has money or something valuable and how she knows that. Have her pretend that she is the BG and see who she would target and why. When she thinks she is getting good and cocky tell her that is what she looks like when she flashes a wad of money or a winning lotto ticket.
