Gun-free zone risky place to follow law - The Sun Chronicle Online - Opinion
If one or more of the people at Ft. Hood who were massacred by a Muslim jihadist had been armed, the shooter would have been taken down long before his killed and injured count hit 44. But base regulations required people in the building to be disarmed when not on duty or in training.
This is just another example of why gun-free zones are dangerous to law-abiding people. People who want to kill others do not follow any laws or regulations. And the U.S. military is infiltrated with many more jihadists, according to investigative journalist Paul Sperry, author of "Infiltration."
There'll be more to come unless our politically correct madness is stopped. And for Obama to dare to tell us to hold off judging the shooter until we have all the facts; is this not the same Obama, who without the benefit of any facts at all, called the Cambridge police stupid for arresting an arrogant and verbally abusive liberal professor?

The facts are that Obama is a gun-grabbing Chicago boss who needs the Supreme Court to keep him and his gang in check.
Americans understood the right of self-preservation as permitting a citizen to repel force by force

First, to be fair that was an opinion piece. I agree w/ the opinion but it's still just an opinion piece.
As for carrying illegally on a military installation, remember GI’s don’t have the same civil liberties on post that we do. They can search your belongings, your barracks room, your car or your person any time they want.
Any risk assessment would have to take into account the fact that you’re far more likely to be caught W/ an unauthorized weapon than to need one to defend yourself
