Looking for wisdom
Last weekend I was at a gun show in Mt Clemens, MI and I saw a product that I had seen on line and was curious about. It's called Car Seat Holder, sells for $30 but for some reason that little guy in the back of my brain keeps telling me that it's not legal in Michigan.
Any body have an opinion?
Do you have a link to this? Never heard of them.
I beleive it would be legal.
I believe having a hand gun in your car falls into the Castle Law, so it's an extention of your home.
I personally would not carry like tht as it reveals to much gun.
You are showing the world world gun, too, too much explaining to do.
I don't know about legal but why not carry on your person if you have the permit? I can see someone jumping out of the car quick, running into the store for a "minute", and coming back to a broken window and stolen gun. DeSantis products are good but this one seems to scream steal me when owner is gone.
Not legal in Mass.
Gun must be on person or locked up
This applies to Michigan:
If you don't have a CPL then it has to be locked away in the trunk. As soon as an open carry enters a vehicle it is considered concealed.
If you have a CPL you can have it anywhere in the vehicle as long as it is out of plain sight. I know a guy that keeps a small .38 in his cup holder and puts a hat over it.
Neither of those would be legal in TX... Handguns must be concealed inside the vehicle...You'd be ok until you opened the door...
I think a Safepacker would be a better choice than either of those...
I am not sure about TN law on the matter, but I am a firm believer that gun should be on me or locked up, when away from home of course.
Wow, that one on amazon puts your weapon on display for the entire world everytime you open the door. I would bypass the legality of this product and question the idea/execution as a whole. Stay away!
For marketing they could've at least shown it on a black interior where it would blend better!!! Maybe it comes with a window sticker you could put on the outside of the car too just in case anyone missed it with the door open...
A rag stuffed around the grip would "conceal" the weapon if you wanted to use this, would it not?

Well to be honest. I have seen many strange things. I would put it this way. If the weapon isn't concealed, then it is not illegal. I have always like the pro-packs my self. I bought mine on unclemikes.com. I use the vertical pro-pack for a right hander. Makes it easy for grabing in the car or in public if needed. I Carrie a big high point .40 CAL with 10 shot clip. I don't mess around. Since my gun is so big I use that pro pack and it is perfectly concealed wearing a over shirt.
I've been using a Safepacker, for years, for travel on the road. It provides secure, concealed carry, and can be removed from the car and attached to the belt in seconds. It is an extremely versatile holster. Follow the link and take a look at the video.
