In Colorado people say CCP or CWP or CCW. In the end everyone knows what you mean, I think.

If you read the Liecense you carry in your wallet, it says nothing about weapon. It is a CHL.

WV Attorney General says "Concealed Handgun License" (CPL)

Application says "Concealed Pistol/Revolver License" as well as the license itself. (CPRL)

Non-Resident New Hampshire says "Pistol/Revolver License" Doesn't even use the word "concealed".

Maybe I'm weird, but it bothers me so much when people around here call it a "permit," "carry permit," "concealed handgun permit" or similar. In PA it's a license to carry firearms. Nowhere on it does it say anything about concealing it, either.

Of course, internet boards don't apply.

Does this get to anyone else?

    NYS -
Mine just says "License to carry pistol is hereby granted" on the top and "unrestricted" on the bottom. You are expected to know what it all means. I've never found anything referring to any abbreviation, nor is there anything on the license about concealed or otherwise. But an unrestricted NY license means keep it concealed.

One thing I noticed is that a CHL in TX does not cover any other weapons for you to carry. So I want to ask of the states that phrase it with "weapon" instead of pistol or handgun - Are you allowed to carry other weapons you otherwise wouldn't be able to without that license? Seems to me that some states include/permit weapons other than handguns in their licenses.

Seems odd that we can carry a gun but not something that requires a shorter distance to implement and less lethal by nature.

It is utterly illogical to believe that passing laws to reduce gun violence will be successful when those who are commiting the gun violence do not obey the law.

Florida is a concealed weapons permit, (CWP) since it covers other weapons in addition to firearms.
