Why you should with carry a round in the chamber.

The attack happened in about 15 seconds...I counted the victim racking the slide 3 times (wasted seconds), before he was able to get his first shot off.

While I agree that he wasted time it looks like the fatal shot was fired before he was able to draw his weapon. At least if he had one chambered he could have returned fire effectively before succumbing to his wounds.

Sorry for the man that it occurred at all. Always one chambered, always !

He was obviously doing the point and shoot method, which most people try to do in an actual situation, and never have practiced it. I have always practiced that and have gotten where I"m better at that than actually aiming.

If he had one ready to go it would have been a completely diffrent. he lost his life and his gun. BG's now have extra gun to use of somebody else.

This is why you keep one in the chamber. Caution graphic!

That was hard to watch but it certainly demonstrated just how real a gunfight is. It was like the store employee's gun shots never hit the BG’s and they had zero fear. Life is so very fragile...

    - It's still mind boggling to me that people believe they will have the time or ability to chamber a round when they need it. It's hard to tell from the video quality, but it looks like he actually fails to chamber a round on the first try. By the time he chambers a round on the second try, it's too late.

IMO, if you're not comfortable carrying a gun without a round in the chamber, you either have the wrong gun or shouldn't be carrying at all.

It doesn't exactly look like a robbery. It appears the now-deceased chap was targeted by two gunmen. I doubt any of us would survive that.

I am wondering why he keeps trying to rack his gun. Was it jammed? Did he carry it without one in the pipe, and then kept grabbing for the slide as a muscle reflex?

Its despicable that only a couple people try to help him while 2-3 other people appear to be taking advantage of the shooting by looting him.

That is a difficult video to watch. I just want to help him. It goes to prove that having a gun is not always the answer. The answer is having the gun ready to do its job. Also, it appears the man has little training!

Could be a robbery turned into a homicide when he pulled his own gun and they started shooting, that's exactly why you don't carry an empty chamber

I think that's what's going on. He's carrying without one in the chamber and he short racks it the first try...I don't know if it would have made a difference for him, since he was shot right off the bat, but it goes to show what carrying an unloaded gun can cost you...

He seemed to have his back, or at least his side to the door. Plus the empty chamber, plus the short rack. There was way too little time to have made 3 mistakes right off the bat like that. He was doomed from the start. Kicked in the head and gun stolen to boot!
    Bad way to go.

Lot's of other videos on that link were hard to watch. I saw one where some ghetto tug shot a store owner with a shot gun!
