    I thought Alaska was one of 2 states that you didnt have to get a permit to carry concealed?

    Nicely twisted thread

    I must say i have had quite a few encounters with LEO as a CCW'r myself & so far they all have been no big deal normally its just a "thanks for telling me" after i handed him my license

    I do have a friend that was plastered across the hood of his truck because he told a county cop he was carrying
    Oh how i hope that does'nt happen to me

    This is true! you dont have to have a CCW to carry concealed, but you can have one, very usefull if you want to travel to the "lower 48" and still be legal in 34 other states!

    two more calls involving guns today... one good, one not so much - I will have to post those a later date.

    I have stayed out of trouble so no LEO encounters yet. My CHL remains in my wallet 99.99% of the time. I only took it out to show my dad and my boss one time.

    Its neat to hear the other side of a law enforcement encounter

    I guess you didn't tell the guy about defensivecarry.com?

    What county was this? How did he say it, "I HAVE A GUNNNNNN!!!"

    Hey USMC3169: Must be in either Anchorage or Fairbanks--no place else big enough to have a box-store-- Sounds kinda like FBKS PD (have a retired FBKS PD officer as long-time friend) [He used to keep Guns Down Under in business]
