Also consider that those 3 reasons also might apply to reliability and not just for the aftermath. I'm play devil's advocate here and not looking for a flame. Ask yourself these questions and remember that your answer involved your life or death.
1. Do you trust your ability to make a reliable load over a factory load? (again, if yes.. great)
2. Do you trust the modifications to your firearm, whether done yourself or by your gunsmith? (Did you change your springs?)
3. Do the LEO in your town carry that round because of sound reasons involving their lives or because of public opinion or budget? (some people have problems with JHP and their weapon)

folks, this is my first post. = fwiw, i work for the family businesses, since i hung up my badge & frequently travel back & forth to NC/SC/TX/VA (and obviously THROUGH a LOT of other states in between.)
my advice, to avoid POSSIBLE trouble is to carry whatever ammunition that you STATE POLICE carry. = clever, shyster lawyers will have a REALLY hard time trying to make you "look like a kook", if you are carrying "state issue".
fyi, my "carry piece" is a nine shot, Sig-Sauer P6, which is loaded with 115 grain JHP.- the state police (in the state where my DL is issued) carry a Sig-Sauer 226 & the 225/p6 is carried by numerous LEOs here as either a duty weapon OR it's "approved for off duty carry".
just my opinion.
