    Baby Glock Magazine Extensions

If you have a baby Glock, do you put on a magazine extension? If so, which one and why?

When I first got the Glock and felt the recoil, I bought four Pierce grip extensions (no +ammo) to get a better grip. But now I feel that I can shoot just as well without the grip as with the grip, and it adds length that makes it harder to conceal. I ordered a couple GAP extensions just to try them out, per the recommendation of another member. Doesn't hurt to give it a whirl.

(Just noticed I put this in the wrong forum, I think. Sorry about that.)

Nah. Negative on the extensions. The whole point of a little pistol is for it to be little :)

I do carry G19 mags though as spares...

That's kind of the neat thing about the GAP extensions.. it's just a small extension of the between-finger grip, not of another finger grip like the Pierce extensions. I'm kind of excited about giving it a try.

It is easier to grip, but it adds to the length of the grip and makes concealment a little more difficult.

Accordingly I do not use it.

I have not. I shot my dad's G26 for several years and he had a mag with and without Pearce extensions. The Pearce extensions are very nice, but once I got my own G26 and shot it a fair amount, not having the extensions didn't bother me at all and I shot fine with it. If you think you might like them, just get one and give it a try. That way you can still have a standard mag for lower profile carry if you want.

Sometimes the extra length is a problem with CC, other times it is not. It is a good option. I keep one with, one with out.

What I personally plan to do is have 2 non-extension grips, one Pierce grip, and, if it feels good, one GAP grip. That way I always have a non-extension grip for reloading, and I can choose which grip I want for CC. Nice to have options!

The GAP extensions are awesome...added control without extra length. Try thme and you'll wonder why they dont make them stock like that.

The GAP floorplates don't really increase the length of the grip...

    Nope.

I want my pistol to be as small as possible. If you start adding those you wind up with a shortened G19/23.

I think OP answered his own question. If he can comfortably and accurately shoot with or without the extensions, why add the extra length? I think the whole concept of the baby glocks is better concealment.

I have GAP extensions on 5 of my seven mags for my G26. They add absolutely NO length to the grip. After shooting hundreds of rounds with both the GAP extensions and the standard Glock plate, I find I still let my lil finger go under the plate. So for me, even tho I checked w/GAP extensions, it truly makes no difference in my Baby Glock's accuracy....JMO
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

I run the Pearce +0 pinky extension. I like having a full grip, but the Pearce still eliminates the part of the grip that prints - the bottom rear corner.

I've thought about the GAP plates, but I'm concerned my fat fingers squished in there would exert downward pressure on the mag - not a good thing! With the Pearce ones, the pressure is rearward, not downward.
