Just found out that El Paso County, Co. has 14,551 active permits and 132 new applications for just this month alone. Thats a good start for a county of almost 600,000 people.
Anyone else know how their county is doing with number of permits issued?

I don't know about the totals in New Haven County, but the Borough of Naugatuck has roughly 15,000 residents and a little over 3,000 permit holders.
There is a qualifier, though. Connecticut requires a carry permit to have or transport a handgun off your own property, even to go to a range. The majority of permit holders in Connecticut likely do not carry.

Where do I find that out?

Here in Arizona it would be easier to find out how many folks don't have one.

I believe that's about 2.4% and most places are going to be about 2-3%...pretty normal for perimt holders in many places.IMHO

Not setting the world on fire.......
wichita ks sits in sedgwick county, has about 400,000 people and about 5,000 permits after 3 years of cch. i think we are off to a slow start. 25,000 for the whole state of kansas.
I agree, definitely not setting the world on fire but I was glad to hear that we constantly have a steady flow of permit applications coming in.
MoHawk, check with your County Sheriff's office for the numbers. I happen to work for the Sheriff's Office and the current numbers were released yesterday. Thought I'd pass on the info and to get other people wondering how many active permits are in their County at present.
Seems hard to believe for us people that live in the free parts of this country.Connecticut requires a carry permit to have or transport a handgun off your own property
Hard to know what the permit count is here. It's only needed if you are going to carry concealed on your person. Here you can open carry in or out of a vehicle without needing permission. You can also carry concealed in your vehicle without a permit as long as it's not on your person (go figure). Of course the AG's website says you can't but there is no law here prohibiting it. I guess the AG thinks he can make up his own laws? Every law enforcment person I have talked to says it's legal.

Here in Minnesota we have about 60,000 permit holders. Not sure how many per county.
Geez, good question I guess I have no idea about VT, I don't know how you could find out either since there is no registry. It would be how many people carry not how many permits, I'm curious now hmmm

Vermont does not issue Permit/Licenses to Carry a Concealed firearm. Vermont allows anyone
who can legally own a firearm to carry it concealed without a permit of any kind.
Texas doesn't give the number of permit holders per county, just the total for the state and the number issued by zip code or county for a particular year.
For 2008 it was about 314,500 permit holders for the state of about 24 million people. Less than 1.5 % of the population.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.
