    Corporate Mentality

I would have told him "i can go get another job easily, but getting a new life after im dead would be hard" ......then tell him to take his job and stick it.....and im sure that job wasnt exactly a wealth-making job opportunity........
I agree with the points you bring up. But at the time I couldn't find another job. So I had to follow the GM's order at the time.

I did break this rule after this event. The evening of the Rodney King case when the police officers were cleared I brought my .45 to work. I kept it under the front desk. That night as many of you may recall there was a lot of civil unrest. They were burning cars & buildings here in Vegas. I wasn't about to be taken advantage of regardless of the rules.

If something had happened that night I would have called the GM and quit. My life was not worth that little.

It was as a desk clerk I learned how to deal with armed suspects & survive! That's how I managed to live this long. I have a great survival instinct! No job is worth losing if I have to forfeit my life!

Even as I type this reply I'm carrying my G26 in a shoulder holster with 2 spare magazines. I'm "supposedly" an unarmed security officer. But, if someone threatens my life all bets are off! I WILL defend myself.

Jobs come & go. I have but one life. I'm not giving up without a fight! Now I'm a lot wiser.

When situations like that happen some people are like "deer in headlights" I don't blame her, she has no training obviously. And the guy that shot was very stupid by almost hitting the child in the head.

If you get the hotel worker's information in his interview, you will see that the angle of the camera makes it LOOK like the child is closer to the action than she really is.

not condemning or approving his actions, i would have not kept shooting with the mother and daughter in LOF. i would have made the first shot but not continued after LOF shifted.

They weren't actually in the LOF. Again, the camera angle makes it look much worse than it really was.
