Got made TWICE in one night

I went to a house party and I got made twice there in one night, but it was more of a than

1 - I offer to hug somebody I knew in my class that I haven't talked to for a long time but knows I carry - I keep my arms low but somehow she snaked right through my arm and landed on my HK45C

Her: "omygod you can't be serious! I want to get away from you now" (slightly tongue in cheek)
    Me (thinking): Oh...crap.

Later on she was cool about it "ok next time I'll hug you up here [neck]!"

Lesson - if you're not much of a hugger - DON'T OFFER to hug someone.

    2 - Taking a picture with friends

We all had our arms on each other's shoulders/lats (team spirit style) and this short girl was on my magazine side (I'm right handed), did not feel the twin mags, and her other hand came right down on the gun...I flung her hand away VERY quickly.

    Her: "What exactly IS that?"

Lesson - for these kinds of pictures - stand with your strong side outwards...

My prepared answer for a question such as "What exactly IS that?":

    "Personal equipment."

Should stop all but the nosiest from asking any more.

I got made by a gal I work with at a new years eve party several weeks ago. I was there with friends and she was there with her fellow (another friend of mine). While I was bending over shooting pool, she came up behind me and grabbed me at the waiste on both sides to drag me to the dance floor. I was carrying my Slim 9mm in an IWB at 3 o'clock and her right hand went directly on my weapon. She couldn't have landed on it any better if she had been trying to. She said, "wow...you must be glad to see me." to which I replied, "if that were the case and it was on my hip, you'd be glad to see me." We laughed and nothing more was or has been said about it since.

When people ask what thay bump is, that they feel under my clothing, I just tell them; "It's a medical device." If they continue to insist knowing what it is I tell them; "It's a medical device designed to induce hemmorhage and preserve my respirations and cardiac output."

The thing about "defense" is that it has practically nothing to do with guns. (As passed on by CCW9MM)

Fortunately, I haven't been made. My father doesn't even know I carry yet.

    I WILL NEVER FORGET.

As with all statements I've made and All that I will make, please check your local laws to verify accuracy. (and if i'm wrong let me know as I like to be right in the future) After all I'm just some goofball posting on an internet forum.

Ankle holsters are good for when you expect a lot of hugging.

If you want to carry a bigger gun, try appendix carry - should be good for anything other than a full-on bear hug.

    That's a dead give-away, every time.

Cell phone, PDA and related gear are taking up more space all the time. But quickly "flinging" hands away pretty much eliminates the possibility of it being something not worth worrying about.

I never say anything, or lie and say it's my cell phone. Everyone has a cell phone or PDA now adays so it is never really a big deal. Sometimes I just tell them it's my gun.
