he said he was a security guard and he didnt want to kill anyone...
If you can't look a BG in the eye, pull your weapon, and fire a shot meant to kill without drawing a breath or blinking an eye - you have no business carrying a gun.

This is DEFENSE OF YOUR LIFE - why should you want to do less?

"Non-lethal" rounds frequently result in death or crippling injury.

Imagine. A perpetrator gets stopped in a non-lethal situation, corroborated by witnesses as not justifying the use of lethal force. And yet, the perpetrator is one of those who ends up dead or disabled due to the use of such a "non-lethal" cartridge. Which brings up a tough question: if the situation did not justify deadly force, why on earth was deadly force used (as evidenced by the poor dead citizen in the morgue)?

If that's a better way, or a way to stop bad guys without killing them...why doesnt LE use them?

Because it's not effective in stopping a truly determined lethal threat (or perps on meth, PCP, etc).

When you consider all the documented gun fights where bad guys took multiple large caliber rounds...and kept on shooting, stabbing, etc....would you risk your life on 2 rubber bullets before you get to the real thing?

    I love this answer too.

The guy who posed the question calls himself "Crackpot Bob". If he keeps asking questions like that in gun forums people will believe that he deserves the name.

As was mentioned before, i believe that if you draw your weapon, in fear of death or serious bodily harm, why would you want to piss your assailant off with an LTL round? I think that if i were ever in that situation, which I hope I will never be in, I will have fired and at least seriously incapacitated if not killed the attacker.

If someone is not prepared to deal with the consequences of taking a life they shouldn't be carrying a gun.

Less Than Lethal in a defensive, non-law enforcement firearm tells me that the person using those rounds is not someone that should be using a gun for self defense. There can, and often is a time for "less than lethal" but the middle of a deadly confrontation is not it.

I use them, and get along fine. I carry a Taurus 9 shot 22 rev. Just use CCI shot shells, the ones with the blue plastic cap, and they shoot BBs.

Last summer I got attacked by 3 grasshoppers and it put them down with no problem what so ever, I think, or did I step on them, can't remember now.

Think of the other benefits, when the BG takes your gun from you, there will be a less likely chance of him killing you with it now. Many benefits, yes it will be fine.
